I came across this is a clever idea on youtube for a homemade stove-top water distiller.   For less then $20 at your local hardware store, you can put this together in just a few minutes. Pure drinking water is crucial in any situation to avoid waterborne diseases and parasites. Prepping 101 is to have a backup plan to purify water for drinking and cooking. Anyone can do this.
